Senior Landman

Sam began his career in land management in 2009 after earning a dual BA in Economics and Spanish from the University of New Mexico. Sam is a Registered Professional Landman with over five years in-house and three years field land experience encompassing nearly all the western states, to include: New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, and Wyoming. Responsibilities in his prior roles include title research, surface and lease acquisition, division orders, operating agreement negotiations, lease records supervision, collaboration with outside legal counsel, and contract maintenance and compliance. Sam recently obtained his Master of Energy Business from the University of Tulsa Collins College of Business, which is a degree program designed for working energy professionals seeking to advance their careers in the energy industry. He is highly proficient in all aspects of petroleum land management, to include title examination, document preparation, and contract negotiation with a specialized focus in due diligence and acquisitions and divestitures. Sam also assumed a leadership role in multiple due diligence projects of producing properties with resultant transactional success. Sam joined Ferrari Energy in August 2017 after ascending to the position of Senior Landman with privately-held E&P Yates Petroleum Corporation, now known as EOG Y Resources, Inc., said entity being acquired by independent E&P EOG Resources, Inc. as the result of a $2.5 billion merger in 2016. Sam played a key land role in facilitating a smooth integration of the Yates acreage position with EOG’s expansive asset base.
